Our 140th Anniversary Committee: (Seated) Rosemary Kettner, Linda Gutzman, Pastor Nitschke, Bev Oelke (Chair), Bev Logan, Dwight Paquette. (Standing) Larry Chaput, Edwin Mohns

The Committee started to plan for the 140th Anniversary in 2004.They planned a number of special Sundays, starting in February with a special service including our choir, followed by a pot luck luncheon. Then, from April until September, one Sunday was set aside so that a retired St. John’s Pastor could visit, conduct a service and meet with the congregation at a luncheon. We were fortunate to have, in order, the following Pastors visit with us: Pastors, Ehrhardt, Metzger, Haak, Lorch, Kaiser and Strack. On October 21st we were pleased and honoured to welcome Bishop Michael J. Pryse, Bishop of the Eastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Canada, as our special guest. As of 2018, the Reverend Doctor Pryse continues as our Synod Bishop.
